My life and career have not been linear. I was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and for the last thirty years have lived in Houston, Texas. Along the way I lived and worked in places as different as New York City and Roswell, New Mexico. My career has included international banking, oil and gas, power plant sales, and the manufacturing of fine china. My passion has been non-profit board leadership which I have been involved in for decades.
A few years ago I was driving to a bookstore when I experienced a revelation: I needed to write the biography of my father, who died in 1997. When I told my husband, he said: “You already have plane tickets to the three places you’d need to go to research that book.” We had planned a 25th anniversary trip to Naples, Italy where my father was born, we were going to attend a wedding in Portland, Maine where Dad went to high school, and we had plans to visit family in Honduras where Dad lived the last 47 years of his life. I have lived long enough to not believe in coincidences: I had my answer. That day I started writing. I hope to soon share Dad’s story.
